Born in London to Colombian parents, Alzate started his career with Leyton Orient before signing for Brighton in July 2017 - a year later, he joined the Town on a season-long loan deal.
A highly-rated and skilful midfielder, Alzate made his debut in a 3-2 win over Macclesfield on the opening day of the season, and netted his first Town goal in a 3-0 win over Yeovil in September - going on to net twice more in 2-1 victories over Notts County and York City.
Sadly, a bad injury curtailed his Swindon career early, and he returned to Brighton in January 2019 after it was revealed that he had a stress fracture of the back that would keep him out for up to four months. Alzate's loan ended having made 22 appearances for the Town in League Two - and though he didn't return to first team football until September, before the calendar year was out he made his international debut for Colombia after a surprise call-up to the national side.
