Town signed Bell on loan from Birmingham City for the first half of the 2014/15 season to compete with fellow loanee Brad Smith for Town’s left wing back berth.
Starting the season behind Smith in the pecking order, Bell’s chance came when Smith was called up for international duty at the end of September, and he started the next eight games. He seemed to struggle with fitness and was substituted in five consecutive matches before being dropped after a loss away at MK Dons in November, and was restricted only to three substitute appearances thereafter, as replacement Harry Toffolo proved a hit with Town fans and management alike.
Bell went on to become an established football league player at Fleetwood Town before joining Championship side Blackburn in 2018.
