A midfielder who came through the ranks at Chelsea, Colkett won England caps at five levels up to Under-20. After a loan spell at Bristol Rovers, he joined Swindon on another loan deal in January 2017 until the season's end along with two other Chelsea starlets - Fankaty Dabo and Islam Feruz.
An energetic, skilful player, he made his Town debut in a 2-1 victory at Bolton that raised hopes of pulling away from the drop zone - the next five games all saw defeat that put the Town in trouble that they wouldn't be able to get out of. Colkett scored just once in his nineteen games - a long range strike against Sheffield United - and he returned to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, with the Town's relegation to League Two confirmed.
