One of five signings made on the loan transfer deadline day in March 2007, Corr was the only one to make a lasting impression after manager Paul Sturrock returned to Sheffield Wednesday to sign him. With the Town looking as though they were dropping away from the automatic promotion places, Corr's arrival was the catalyst for a change in tactics - whilst Corr partnered Lukas Jutkiewicz in attack, the usual front pairing of Christian Roberts and Lee Peacock dropped back into midfield positions. The effect was immediate - not only did Corr prove himself as the target man that had been lacking in previous games, he scored in each of his first two games - the Town winning against two fellow promotion candidates in Lincoln and Shrewsbury. Over the next few games, despite Corr not scoring, he led the line well, allowing others to play off him.

Having missed a large chunk of the season, Corr wasn't 100% fit when he joined - a problem exacerbated by the return of a back problem that had haunted his time at Hillsborough. After Corr netted his third goal for the Town in a 2-1 win over Mansfield, a win that left the Town teetering on the brink of promotion, a scan revealed that Corr had been playing with a cracked vertebrae. In a decision described by Sturrock as the biggest of his career, Corr was rested for the clash with Bristol Rovers - with the Town needing just a point, they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat, taking the promotion race to the last game of the season. Corr was recalled, and played the whole ninety minutes as Swindon drew with champions Walsall to secure promotion. At the end of the season, Corr was released by Wednesday - and despite the fact that he would miss the start of the following season, he signed for the Town on a two year contract.

Corr eventually returned to action in October, and he marked his comeback with a winning goal against Tranmere - coming on with just twelve minutes to go, Corr netted with two minutes remaining to secure a 1-0 win. Corr continued to play a substitute's role throughout November - making his first start of the season in a cup tie at Wycombe, before a routine scan on his back revealed that one of the two fractured vertebrae that had kept him out previously had failed to heal. After a painkilling injection, Corr continued playing through the Christmas period - a haul of four goals in three games seemingly cementing himself a starting place, before a red card for stamping on Swansea centre-back Garry Monk on New Year's Day put him on the sidelines again.

Corr's injury curse was to continue in February, when he was taken off with a suspected dislocated shoulder in a match against Northampton. When the injury was diagnosed as only ligament damage, Corr returned to action within a fortnight - but within minutes of taking to the field against Cheltenham, a knock to the same shoulder sidelined him for over a month. Corr returned again in mid-March, and after a six minute cameo at Brighton, he started the home game with Southend - but only lasted 45 minutes with another recurrence of his shoulder injury. This time, the injury proved to be more serious - and following surgery, it was predicted that it would be up to six months before he was ready for action.
