A youth team graduate and Wales youth international who signed professional terms in April 2022 having been with the club since the age of 11, left sided attacker Cowmeadow made his first appearance for the first team as a substitute away at Plymouth in the Football League Trophy in October 2021.

His sole professional season trod the path of many others before him: in a squad with a lot of young attacking players on the fringes of the first team, including Harry Parsons, Morgan Roberts, Oscar Massey and Abu Kanu, Cowmeadow found himself loaned out to Slough, Poole Town, Kidlington and Swindon Supermarine in an attempt to find regular game time. After an early season League Cup start - rather oddly at right wing back - against Walsall, Cowmeadow’s only first team minutes came as a second half substitute against Crystal Palace in the Football League Trophy. Come the end of the season, Cowmeadow was released by Town, bringing to an end an eight year association without having made a league appearance.
