A Welsh international who played in his only international game before he made his league debut, Day was signed from Tranmere in 1939. He made his debut for the Town versus Aldershot on September 2nd - and the following day war was declared!
He went on to make 27 more appearances in the wartime South West Regional League, scoring one goal in a 5-2 win over Bristol Rovers in January 1940, before the club closed down in June of the same year.
