Central midfielder signed on the loan transfer deadline day from Watford in March 2006, for the rest of the season, Diagouraga made an impressive debut, coming on at half time in a 2-0 win over Chesterfield - his energetic performance drawing praise from the Town fans and local media, who likened him to former Arsenal star Patrick Vieira.

Unfortunately, the rest of his loan spell didn't really live up to the billing, and though he started four games in the crucial March period, he lost his place toward the end of the month, and returned to Watford at the end of the season.
