A youth team product who spent time with Bristol City earlier in his development, Edwards made one appearance in a dead rubber on the final day of the 2017/18 season against Accrington Stanley, starting alongside James Dunne and Amine Linganzi in central midfield and playing 81 minutes of a 3-0 win before being substituted.

The following season, he made the bench for an early season game at Bury, before spending time on loan at Chippenham Town and Marlow, but that was it for his Town career, being released at the end of the season and joining Basingstoke
