A keeper who progressed through the youth ranks, Farr signed his first professional contract shortly before the 2002/2003 season started, after a mini crisis in confidence raised doubts over whether or not he was actually going to sign one at all.

Farr was handed his debut as a substitute in the modest surroundings of an LDV Vans Trophy First Round match, in front of just over 1,700 people, and while the Town held a comfortable 4-1 lead over Southend. His full debut came in November, this time in the Second Round of the LDV Vans Trophy, as the Town were knocked out on the golden goal rule at Kidderminster. It was a strange game, floodlight failure delaying the kick-off until 9:00pm - and with the game going into extra time, the game finished as the latest in British football history, at just gone 11:00pm.

With the Town in a mid-table position towards the end of the season, manager Andy King used the opportunity to test some of the squad's youngsters, and Farr made his league debut in a 2-0 home win over Plymouth on 23rd April 2003, keeping his position for the next game. Despite this, King remained unconvinced as to Farr's ability to challenge first choice keeper Griemink, and so only offered Farr a monthly contract when his expired at the end of the season. When Rhys Evans signed from Chelsea shortly before the 2003/2004 season began, Farr was obviously surplus to requirements, and he was released at the end of August 2003.
