A preseason trialist in the summer of 2024, former Bournemouth full back/midfielder Genesini was signed to a one year-deal in 8th August and made his debut the same day against Peterborough in the League Cup as a 78th minute substitute for Liam Kinsella. After being an unused sub in the first League match against Crewe, he then started the second against FGR as a left wing back: probably not his first choice position as a right footed player, but he did well enough to retain his place for the next game against Wrexham. Whilst Genesini had been substituted long before Town capitulated in injury time to throw away a two goal lead and draw 5-5 with the Welsh side, manager Michael Flynn had clearly seen enough to convince him that neither Benn Ward nor Genesini were the answer at left wing back and the role went to Tariq Uwakwe for the following game.

Those two games in August were to prove Genesini’s only league starts: whilst he looked better as a right wing back in Town’s Football League Trophy campaign, he couldn’t get ahead of Remeao Hutton in the role and was generally an unused substitute for most of the rest of the year, before falling out of the first team squad altogether after Christmas under Gavin Gunning with the emergence of Joel McGregor and Udoka Godwin-Malife’s move to right back. Genesini joined non-league Yeovil Town on loan in March, where he had a more positive experience as the Glovers secured promotion back to the National League, before being released by Town at the end of the season.
