Signed from Celtic in October 1964, Haffey was a Scottish international goalkeeper who won just two caps - possibly because in his second game, he kept goal during the 9-3 defeat by England in 1961!

He made just four appearances for the Town that season, before he bizarrely left the club to go to Australia, where he took up singing as his profession!
