Signed on loan from Brighton at the end of the January 2017 transfer window, Rohan Ince - third cousin of Paul, and the nephew of former Wimbledon defender Eric Young - became a Town favourite during his short spell in SN1.

With 80-odd games at Championship level under his belt at Brighton & Fulham, and experience in the Chelsea youth academy, Ince brought a touch of class to a Town midfield, breaking up opposition play and contributing to Town attacks too. Ince made his debut in a midfield three alongside Charlie Colkett and Ben Gladwin in a defeat against Bury but generally played at the base of midfield in a 4-1-3-2 or diamond format. He scored two goals in his 14 games - one from inside the six-yard box in a 3-1 win over Gillingham, the other a thunderous strike from twenty-five yards in the Town's penultimate game of the season against Scunthorpe, which proved to be no more than a consolation, as the Town's relegation to League Two was confirmed.

Whilst he would have been a popular signing the following summer, he ended up staying in League One with Bury - with whom he would suffer a second successive relegation.
