The son of former Birmingham and Derby defender Michael, Johnson is a tall left-sided defender who came through the Nottingham Forest academy before joining Town in January 2024. Swindon took over his contract as they were under transfer restrictions at the time, but he played only 35 minutes of football over the rest of the season, with a single substitute appearance at Bradford being all he managed before a pre-existing injury ended his season.
Johnson remains under contract for the 2024/5 season.
