A graduate of the Auxerre youth academy and a Congolese international, Missilou became something of a journeyman in the French leagues before coming to England with Oldham in 2018. Having moved on to Northampton for the 2020/21 season, he impressed against Town in October, scoring Northampton’s first in a 2-1 win for the Cobblers. Having not really been linked, he was a surprising transfer deadline day signing on February 1st of that season, signing a contract to the end of the season.

Missilou made his debut as a substitute in a defeat away at Shrewsbury, followed by his first start at Portsmouth three days later at the base of a central midfield three with Matty Palmer and Jack Payne. Missilou didn’t make a huge impression in the first team, playing the full ninety minutes in only two of his eleven games in a Town shirt, and whilst he had moments where his ability on the ball showed, it was never consistent enough and he struggled to influence games. It was therefore somewhat of a surprise when he was called up for his country for Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches in March - and having only previously made a single appearance for Congo way back in 2012, he won two more caps against Senegal and Guinea-Bissau - defeat in the latter denying the Diables Rouges a place in the finals.

Missilou was released at the end of the season when his contract expired.
