A bargain £110 signing from Swansea at the beginning of the 1926/1927 season, Morris is a Swindon legend.

He made his debut on the opening day of the season, on 28th August 1926 in a home match versus Southend United. The Town trounced the Shrimpers 5-1, and Morris scored a hat-trick. Just two days later, came his second game, and again Morris hit the net three times, in a 4-2 win over Exeter. By the end of the season, he had amassed a massive 47 league goals in just 41 games, a club record, which included another hat-trick at Newport, four goals in a home match versus Crystal Palace, and five in a win over Queens Park Rangers - the first Swindon player to achieve this feat. In an eleven match run in that season, Morris scored 19 goals, scoring in every game.

He went on to score 215 goals in 260 matches for the Town (another club record), including eighteen hat-tricks. Also, not content with doing it once, he scored five goals in another game - when he bagged all the goals in a 5-1 win over Norwich in April 1930.

Morris was Swindon's top scorer in all seven seasons that he played for the Town. Despite this, new manager Ted Vizard decided Morris was getting too old when he joined the club, and allowed him to leave to join Clapton Orient. Amazingly, the man he signed to replace Morris, Cecil Blakemore, was 35 years of age - and just thirteen days younger than Morris.
