An exciting winger, Moss was originally signed from Witney Town in 1969, at the age of seventeen. He didn't make his debut for two and a half years - a substitute appearance versus Norwich in December 1971 - and he had to wait another three months for his full debut, in a 2-0 win over Watford.
Moss stayed at Swindon until the end of the 1977/1978 season - his major achievements for the Town coming in the FA Cup, where he scored thirteen goals in six seasons, including seven in five games in the cup run of 1976/1977. During his final year, he was the club's top scorer, prompting Luton to pay a six-figure fee. He was part of the Luton team who won promotion to the First Division.
Moss returned to Swindon in 1985, when Lou Macari brought him back to the club, to add some experience to his young team. After just four appearances, Moss picked up an injury, and he never played League football again.
