Player Profile

The son of former Town player Fitzroy, Simpson was part of Town’s youth set up from the age of six, and signed his first professional contract in March 2017 alongside Scott Twine and Tommy Ouldridge. Twine and Simpson were named amongst the substitutes for a League One game against Sheffield United later that month, but went unused. It was to be Simpson’s only appearance in a Town matchday squad.

Just four months later, new Town manager David Flitcroft allowed Simpson to join Mark Cooper’s Forest Green Rovers on a free transfer. Simpson signed a two year deal with the Gloucestershire side, departing Town without making a senior appearance.
