Thorne was signed for around £200,000 from Blackburn, and immediately made an impression with two goals on his debut against Burnley. Despite being VERY injury-prone, his goalscoring made him a firm favourite with the fans. However, when his contract ran out, Thorne decided he wanted to move to a bigger club, and was eventually sold to Stoke.
