Loaned from Burnley for the 23/24 season, left footed central defender Ward had a difficult time with injury during his spell in SN1. He was involved in all of Town’s first five games in August, but didn’t make a huge impression before suffering a hernia injury that prevented him from making a matchday squad after the middle of September and being recalled by Burnley in January. It’s unlikely he’ll look back with great fondness on his spell at Town, and he’ll probably be a much missed answer in a Sporcle quiz on Town loanees in a few years time.
